How the Drop Strike Came to Be

Our vehicles start with an awesome idea, but often change a lot before they are ready for action. Here is how the Drop Strike came to be - from concept to production ready!

The original concept code-named “Hover Buggy” could drive, jump, and fly! We at Air Hogs were excited about the concept but knew that we could do more to satisfy the RC Enthusiast.

Our engineering team went back to the drawing board adding 5 missiles so you could now drive, jump, fly AND shoot! The missiles definitely increased the fun factor but the vehicle became too heavy and was just not fast enough.

Revised designs increased the power to make the "Hover Buggy" faster and fly better. The designers also changed one of the missile slots to a cool red LED firing light.

After much debate the designers reached the final version that became the Hover Assault. After adjusting the way the rear wheels worked to improve turning we were road and sky ready!

A few months later, the Air Hogs designers had a breakthrough!  They figured out a way to let the vehicle drop its wheels with the push of a button!  Now you could transform to a helicopter and take out ground targets. The final piece of the puzzle was to allow the missile bays to adjust automatically when the Drop Strike was in heli mode.  With that, the Drop Strike was ready for action!
