Zero Gravity - Getting Started

You will need:

  • 1 x Zero Gravity car
  • 1 x Remote Control
  • 6 x AA Premium Alkaline Non-Rechargeable Batteries (not included)
  • 1 x Phillips Screwdriver (not included)

Install the batteries. Open the battery compartment on the back of your controller using a Phillips head screwdriver. Place the 6 AA batteries in the battery compartment, making sure you are putting these in the right way.

Charge your car. Plug the controller wire into the car, move the power switch on the controller into the CHG position, and you will see a blinking red light on the controller. The car is now charging. When the remote lights flash red and green together, your car will be ready to drive.

Check your environment. The Zero Gravity car is an indoor only car, so before driving, make sure you are indoors, away from any other Infrared devices, bright lights, air vents or open windows.

Turn the car and the controller on. Have fun.

How long should it take to charge my Zero Gravity car?

Your Zero Gravity Car will take around 30-50 minutes to charge. You will know when the car is fully charged because the red and green lights on your controller will be flashing together!

Where can I drive my Zero Gravity car?

Your Zero Gravity car is designed to be used indoors only, so do not play with it outside! The room you are in should have lots of space to move with no breakable objects.

Try to avoid direct sunlight or other IR (infrared) devices. The IR signal between the controller and the car will not work well near sunlight so you may lose connection and crash. Turn off any fans and stay away from any other air vents.

Good surfaces to drive your car on include tiles, concrete and hardwood floors. If you’re driving up a wall, make sure it’s a wall without bumps or dents.

Follow these tips and you will be an expert driver in no time!

troubleshooting & repair

How do I charge my Zero Gravity car?

What you need:

  • 1 x Zero Gravity Car
  • 1 x Zero Gravity remote/charger with batteries already installed.

  1. Your remote control for your Zero Gravity Car is also your charger. Lift up the charge cable cover located in the middle of your controller indicated by the "AIR HOGS" logo.
  2. Make sure that both the Remote and the Zero Gravity Car power switches are turned to the "OFF" position.
  3. Plug in the end of the charging wire into the charge port square on the side or bottom of the car. You will want to make sure that the little arrow on the end of the charge cord lines up with the arrow on the charge port of the toy.
  4. Once plugged in, turn the power switch on the Remote Control/Charger down to the "CHG" position. You will know that the Car is charging when you see the Red charging light blinking.
  5. When charge is complete, both the Red charge light and Green power light will flash together. Once complete, turn everything off and unplug and store the cord back in the remote. You are now ready to drive!

My Zero Gravity car will not drive straight! What do I do?

If your car is not driving straight, the first thing you’re going to want to do is check the wheels and tires to see if there is any hair or debris caught in that area. Even just one little piece of hair can make your car not drive straight! Carefully remove anything that can get in the way.

Now try and drive your car. If it’s still not driving straight, the next step would be to “trim” your car. See that little button on your controller that says "Trim"? This will help you get your car to drive straight.

    Setting the Trim:

    1. Figure out which direction your car wants to steer to. Does it want to constantly go left or go right?
    2. Make sure your remote is pointed at the car for the best possible response.
    3. Give your car a bit of throttle and get it driving. Start trimming in the opposite direction of the issue.
      • If your car is driving to the right, tap the left trim button.
      • Same thing goes for the other way around. If your car wants to steer left, tap on the right trim button.

The trim might need to be fixed after charging the car and it will definitely need to be adjusted after crashes!

Sometimes you’ll need to tap the trim button only 5 times or so, and sometimes you’ll need to tap the trim button up to 50 times. Try trimming it just a little bit. If it seems like it’s working, but it’s not quite there yet, tap it a few times more. It’ll even out eventually, so be patient!

If your car starts to steer too much to the other way after trimming, you may have over-trimmed! If this happens, all you need to do is trim it in the opposite direction.

    Troubleshooting
If you’ve trimmed your car and it is having steering problems, check for the following:

Signal Interference: Drive indoors. Sunlight and other strong light sources may interfere with the signal from the remote to the car, so try and stay away from these. Make sure you are also not driving around other R/C products that might be sharing the same channel/frequency/bandwidth.
Batteries: For trimming to work, your car needs to be fully charged. Make sure you are using brand new, premium, non-rechargeable batteries.

If your car is still steering on its own, give our Customer Care Team a call at 1-800-622-8339 and they’ll love to help out!
